Regarding Engineering Construction, Equipment Maintenance, or Activities Affecting Vessel Navigation Conducted within the Kaohsiung Commercial Port Area: Please Submit Notices of Navigational Hazards

Explanation:
1. Where the aforementioned operations are required by law to obtain prior approval or consent from our branch office or other competent authorities, such approval or consent shall be duly obtained from the responsible authority before the operations may be carried out.
2. Notices of navigational hazards submitted by all units shall include the following information: description of the operation, location of the operation, diagram illustrating the affected area, start and end dates and times of the operation, safety warning measures, contractor information, emergency contact person, and contact telephone number. Where coordinate positions are involved, such positions shall be indicated using the WGS-84 or GRS-67 coordinate system, or the applicable positioning reference system shall be clearly specified.
3. In the event of an emergency where advance notification three days prior to commencement is not feasible, the notice of navigational hazard shall be faxed to the following units for handling in accordance with their respective authorities: Port Administration Section of the Port Affairs Department of our branch office (07-561-7108), Monitoring Center of the Port Affairs Department (07-532-5623), Duty Office of the Monitoring Center (07-551-3953), Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) Center of the Port Affairs Department (07-571-7427), Port Operations Center of the Port Affairs Department (07-571-1291), Civil Engineering Maintenance Section of the Maintenance and Management Department (07-561-2824), Administration Section of the Kaohsiung Harbor Police Corps, National Police Agency, Ministry of the Interior (07-533-6683), and the Kaohsiung Harbor Pilots’ Office (07-521-4615).
4. Any damage arising from failure to notify, or failure to notify our branch office at least three days in advance for onward dissemination, shall be borne solely by the construction or executing unit.
5. For navigational hazards or engineering works located outside the commercial port area, please contact the Maritime Safety Division of the Maritime and Port Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, at (02) 8978-2900 for the issuance of navigational notices.
